Bucim and Borov Dol mines have launched an initiative to support individuals with intellectual disabilities, organizing a visit on October 2, 2024. During this visit, 15 users of the Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities – PORAKA Radoviš, together with their companions, had the opportunity to learn about the mining activities and infrastructure of Borov Dol mine.
This visit is a significant step toward promoting an inclusive society, demonstrating Bucim and Borov Dol mines’ commitment to embracing diversity and providing equal opportunities for all members of the community. The aim of this initiative is to raise public awareness about the importance of integrating individuals with intellectual disabilities as equal and active members of society.
The members of PORAKA Radoviš were introduced to various aspects of mining operations, fostering their integration and inclusion in society. They visited the machine workshop, the Borov Dol mine pit, and the administrative building, where a short presentation on mining activities was organized. During the visit, participants were also provided with personal protective equipment for a safe tour of the mine. The visit concluded with a joint lunch at the Bucim mine.
